Botswana is blessed with some of the most beautiful reserves and exceptional wildlife in Africa. Ample grassy floodplains are home to a wide range of wild animals. Herds of Buffaloes and Elephants share the terrain with Lions, Cheetahs and even Leopards. The Okavango Delta and its crystal-clear waters are an oasis in the Kalahari Desert. This jewel in the desert is an amazing sight. Moremi Game Reserve, located within the delta, has the most diverse habitat in the country. It occupies a quarter of the Okavango Delta and its landscape is a mix of forests, lagoons, floodplains and islands. |
Xaranna Okavango Delta Camp
3 Nights in the Xaranna Okavango Delta Camp which enjoys luxurious solitude on its own Delta island within an exclusive 25 000 hectare (62 000 acre) wildlife concession. Drawing inspiration from the iconic Delta water lily, Xaranna is a delightful camp with just nine sleek ensuite safari tents that combine canvas and bleached timber, accented with shades of soft lily pink and olive green. Each tent has a romantic sala, private plunge pool, indoor bathtub and al fresco shower – all boasting sweeping Delta views. Experience guided walking safaris, interpretive game drives, seasonal water-based experiences including motorized boat, traditional mokoro (dugout canoe) and fishing excursions.
Chobe National Park, famous for having Africa’s largest single concentration of elephants, is the country’s first national park and a top game viewing location in Southern Africa.
The Okavango Delta is well known for its Mokoro rides. These are boating trips through the maze like channels and shallow lagoons of the Delta. As mokoros are not motorized, they allow you to glide silently through the channels. You will see many animals that feed on the grass and reeds on the palm islands such as lechwe, sitatunga, elephant, hippo and crocodile (seasonal – dependent on water levels).
Chobe National Park
