SANDBOARDING IN NAMIBIA
Situated approximately 11 km from Swakopmund, this adventure will take you to a star shaped dune having six different faces and towering to a height of 100 meters. Trips depart from Swakopmund at 9:30 and return to town at 13:30. A sand boarding trip includes the option to also do the super fast lie down boarding. Transport from and back to Swakopmund is provided for this activity. Once on location, each activity begins with a thorough briefing presented by sand boarding instructors, that is specific for each type of activity. Sand boarding is a physically engaging activity and having some level of fitness is a pre-requisite for engaging in this activity.

Lie Down Boarding
This adventure starts with an easy introductory ride down a gentle slope nicknamed “Little Nellie,” down which one practices steering and stopping the board. Once prepared for the steeper, longer, and faster rides, the adventure moves to the slope nicknamed “Birgit Run”. With growing confidence, move to the steeper and longer slope nicknamed “Lizzie,” down which speeds of up to 60 kph can be attained. Tandem Toboggan |

Stand Up Boarding
No stand up boarding experience is necessary for this activity. However, previous boarding experience and a good sense of balance are definitively an advantage. The activity begins with a thorough briefing on techniques. After a few minutes, board down your first slope and progress, at your own pace, to faster more engaging slopes. |
