Wildlife Safaris Northern Parks of South Africa
South Africa is home to some of the finest wildlife sanctuaries in the world, and is home to the African ‘Big Five;’ Elephant, Buffalo, Leopard, Lion, and Rhinoceros.
Madikwe Game Reserve, situated on the edge of the Kalahari, is a combination of bushveld and semi-arid desert. This territory is home to the ‘Super Seven’ – adding the endangered Cheetah and African Wild Dog to the already famous Big Five.
KRUGER PARK
One of the largest game reserves in Africa, Kruger National Park covers an area of almost 20,000 square kilometres. On the east, the Lebombo Mountains separate the park from Mozambique, in the north it is mainly covered in tropical forests and the south is characterised by granite hills. It is home to all the iconic wildlife species – Elephant, Lion, Leopard, Cheetah, Rhino, Buffalo, Giraffe, Hippo and Zebra – who share it with over 130 other mammals species and over 500 varieties of bird.
